This content was written for Tip Top K9.

Boarding dogs in Meridian Idaho has found a new home at tip top K9. An integral part of our business is group obedience classes. We usually do group class with one trainer and up to 12 students with their dogs. The top K9 instructor will accurately demonstrate certain command and how and when they show the person how to execute the commands. Usually followed up by some light homework to get prepped for for the next group meeting. Most classes usually run between 6 to 12 weeks and usually on the same day each and every week. Our trainers that usually have a progression of obedience courses that will help the dog moves through certain obedience classes.

We offer two types of group classes, one being a puppy class in the other the beginner obedience class. Both these classes cost $100. Puppy classes run for five weeks on every Saturday and beginner obedience classes run for five weeks on every Monday. There are several advantages and disadvantages to our group classes. Some pros: cost effective, only $100 for the class, if your dog is a fast learner you can catch on and master command very quickly. Some disadvantages include: usually around the minutes of one-on-one time and your dog must be paying attention in order to soak up the learning of commands. Boarding dogs in Meridian Idaho and training dogs are specialty.

Boarding dogs in Meridian Idaho is serious business and we want you to rest assured that your baby is in good hands. There are two important aspects in dog training. Number one, training the dog of course. And number two, training the human to be able to train the dog. Training of the human is more of her one-on-one training classes while her group classes focus on the dog aspect.

Our group classes are very good for your dog and your human distractions, are key in order to build rapport with your dog and staff. Space is very crucial for your dog to be socialized obedience around other dogs. We facilitate and encourage distractions during our obedience training course to help teach dog focus on their owners! We usually run through three phases when we teach dogs. The first phase is the teaching phase. This is simply helping the dog understand the command and what is expected from the dog from each command. Our second phase of the practice phase. We reiterate to make sure we have done several repetitions and the dog is positively clear on the command and what is expected. That can mean hundreds or I can mean thousands of repetitions, it’s all up to you and your dog on how quickly they will learn the second phase. Finally a third phase, is called the proofing phase. This is where the dog must either commands with distractions all around and execute it regardless of said distractions.
