One on one instruction is by far the most effective way to learn any new skill. In dog training, one on one lessons allow us to split the time between the dog and their human, with both learning a new skill and both at different speeds. Sometimes our private lessons are 1/2 dog training and 1/2 human training. Sometimes they are 1/3 dog training and 2/3 human training.
And then for those really challenging dogs, sometimes we must do multiple lessons with the dog only and then focus multiple lessons on human training only! Customization like this is impossible when someone starts in a group class and is precisely why we start every dog off with a $1.00 first lesson to assess what is needed.
