Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training uses obedience in her teens to set a pattern to teach dogs where the potty. Potty training is not so much where not to go, but teaching them where they should go. Part of the way we train is by setting routines for the dog and showing them where they are allowed to go. The other tool we use is obedience to control your dog. If your dog comes on command, they cannot go straightaway and potty in the wrong spot. We can reliably and quickly get them to the correct spot if we see them sniffing around.

Now let’s go over the five potty training myths that we commonly see here at Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training. Myth number one. Spanking your dog if you catch him will teach him not to party on the carpet. This is so wrong! Spank your dog if you catch them will teach your dog to be scared of you and teach your dog not to go in front of you. When this happens, with the dog will learn is do not go in front of you, and instead run away into another room to go into a hidden spot. If you are spanking your dog, you are going to train your canine companion to run away and potty in secret. Don’t do this!

#2 myth that we see here at Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training is your dog to be potty trained by four months old. There is no age where your dog is magically able to hold their bladder. Potty training is a process that takes time. It is all about setting routines for your dog, and helping them learn what to do and be patient. Take them out after any activity, after eating, after waking up, and after water breaks, and just keep taking them out! Myth 3? Bells by the door will help train the dog faster. The bells don’t help the dog trained pastor. The dog doesn’t know where to go yet, and it hasn’t been established by routine, and the bow won’t help the dog go to the door. Convenient but the bells work by routine and until the dog understands the party outside her team, they won’t actually bring the belt to go outside to use the bathroom.

Greater cool and I don’t need one. This is myth four. A creek and become your dog safe haven, his or her own personal space. A dog crate is not cruel at all if used properly. Crates are very useful for potty training and most dogs will really like them once introduced to a crate properly. And the worst one of all, potty pads will help your dog learn not to party on the carpet. This is WRONG!!! We highly discourage the use of products. They teach the dog to be inside. They teach the dog to be on absorbent surfaces inside. Anything and everything that is absorbent is now a potty pad, this includes your sweatpants, your rug, and anything else that your dog can get to. Plus, it is gross to have to p.m. poop inside!

Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training

Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training fully believes that puppy classes can definitely be a good thing. All we are saying is that the time you would spend at class may be better spent on socialization pup and taking them to a new environment as well. We want our dogs to develop confidence from knowing that the world is good and a fun place. A company dog is an easy dog to train.

We, Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training, the teaching obedience to a dog that’s still a super puppy and doesn’t have any more than a 5 to 10 minute attention span can take a lot of work for small pay off. Sure, it can be done, but think about it. It is easier and you will have better results if you teach a 67-year-old child math than a 3 to 4-year-old child. Sure you made available to do with the 34-year-old, but it is a lot harder just because a brain development and maturity. A 3 to 4-year-old human child doesn’t need formal school, he has other needs. This is the same for your dog!

We believe at Royal Oak Michigan Dog Training that the best age to start puppy training also depends on your dog. Some dogs are fine starting obedience classes at 34 months old, and they need to. Some dogs would be way better waiting until 5 to 6 months old, or even a little bit older. Our trainers prefer dogs that are between 4 to 6 months old before we start doing formal training. Wires are so much of a difference? Each and every dog is unique and has their own DNA, all have different social life’s, all have different life experiences, they’re all raised a little different, and the list goes on and on.

At first, puppies may be scared of new things such as loud noises, new environments, car rides, slick floors, different services, and etc. etc. One of the first things we like to focus on is taking your new puppy everywhere with us. This gets amuse to a ton of new environments. Your goal should be able to enjoy your dog and be able to take him or her everywhere dogs are allowed. Take them everywhere and have them walk on all different kinds of stuff. Haven’t smelled different smells and hear different noises so they become confident in all different types of environments. Sometimes, this is hard and you can’t figure out how to teach your pup to overcome some things. And that’s okay. That’s why we are here to help you create a strong competent pup that will only have great experiences.

If your dog is over four months old, your first lesson is only one dollar.
